rear recovery point?

would an m20 eye bolt through the top centre of the draw bar with a 10mm spreader plate on the back be strong enough to use for recovery purposes?

i'm not convinced by jates as they are a tad out of the way when up to the guts in mud, and riding about with a bridle on the back is asking for bother. i do use a jaw for towing but it is on a 1.75  inch drop plate so would not stand heavy snatching. hence the idea of a dirty eye bolt to fit a farmer sized shackle onto.
any thoughts welcome.

Should be, what is the rated load on the eye bolt?

5600kg breaking force to din580 spec apparently.

runing the same set up on mine and it works a treat

That's it's rated load, it's fail load will be higher and I doubt many of your strops will be stronger so I'd day it's more than enough.
