OverHeating AGAIN
morson4x4:
im getting similar issues went to portsmouth from salisbury had to cruise at 50mph with heaters on to keep just above half way i then flushed the outside rad it had mud straw and what other it had there, then went to epsom from salisbury and it sat at halfway at 60mph so slight improvement but still cant do 70mph, my dad suggested and i might do it is to get twin elec fans and convert it from viscous. may solve the issue?

*if* those fans work surely it would only be hiding the fact there is something wrong. The standard cooling from factory is said to be more than adequate for the job in the hottest of climates. The rad issues discussed in this thread seem to be mostly concerning internal blockage of the radiator be it from contamination from additives such as 'cure leak', sedative build from component/coolant corrosion or just fin closure from damage or age and that internal flushing of the rad (in my case the 300tdi defender) does not clear any blockages due to its design.
Range Rover Blues:
After speaking to an installation engineer at kenlowe I didn't fit my LSE with electric fans, they can shift only about half the air that a decent viscous can.
morson4x4:
well i never new that so ill stick to my viscous then might infest in new rad and thermostat
Range Rover Blues:
At the time I thought I had a decent rad too so the engineer suggested i replace the visocu hub, it made a massive difference to how the fan runs but TBH the guy I bought the viscous from offered me such a good deal ona new rad I swapped both.
