Dripping!
Cheggs:
Any ideas Appreciatted,
I have a 300tdi Auto that is leaking Oil, I did have a split in the breather Hose (but have solved that one), Then the Banjo union on an injector was leaking so I have solved that but do appear to have collected minor leaks at the same locations on all injectors ( terrified of over tightening Them), But none of them worries me the one that gets me is the oil on the front cross member, Power steering fluid levels aren't dropping and oil cooler conections are dry, but i'm getting lots of oil collecting here (appears to be engine oil). Any Ideas, Rocker cover Gasket is ok, head appears ok where it can be seen the cyclone filter thing has been resealed as the O-ring had gone, the pipe from this is wet at the bottom so will be replacing that, but how am I getting oil on the front cross member, Thanks - Keith
Range Rover Blues:
Front crossmember might be from the oil cooler in the rad, or it's pipework. I've just had to replace a set that burst!
At the back it could be the breather from the cyclone, the rear crankshaft seal or the back of the rocker, though you have checked that.
The pressurised oil supply to the head is the fornt driver's corner of the block IIRC.
Cheggs:
Thanks for that ,
I have finally had time for a proper look it was the front crankshaft oil seal :(, coupled with the fuel return pipes, just putting the engine back together, after fitting a new seal, in between work and rain,. :)
Cheggs:
Its appaers to be leaking again from the same place, :'(
Range Rover Blues:
If it's definitely the front oil seal then perhaps the pulley was scratched or scored so the new seal doesn't stand much chance of working.
Another thought I had was oil residue collecting in the intercooler and somehow escaping form the bottom.
