I'd agree, if it's a keeper.  I worked out that my £1,250 multi point systme would pay me back in 16,000 miles, which I've now more than done.  My car runs quieter, the fual burns cleaner which is good for the engine and the oil stays clean fo longer.

24MPG is about what a 300TDi classic will do, driven "normally".

got a 3.9 efi on single point lpg, 100ltre tank i am putting up for sale, it runs better on gas than petrol, and 63 p per litre, its a no brainer, deffo get it done, but i have lost some boot space, petrol is only going one way [-X

Voguese..... how do you get 24mpg?? best I ever got was 17/18 on a run (unless you been reading the owners handbook book of lies)

Having found a boot0tank makes the RRC totally inflexible as a large-load carrier I spent the extra on my LSE and fitted an upright doghnut tank in the spare wheel well (a 235/70 barley fits anyway) and don't carry a spare unless I've got the caravan on (spare goes in there).

Loosing the spare makes up for the extra weight of the tank, I cary a can of gunk and a green flag card ;)

Once you know where the LPG stations are you learn to plan your journey appropriately.


One thing I notice though, the V8 sounds different on LPG :-k

Does it?  I never noticed that when I had mine ... but then again, I'm not an engineer.


MPG: I get about 28-29 out of a TDI where with a 3.9 V8 I used to get 16 on petrol and about 12 on LPG.  If you're keeping the car, LPG it - just don't crash it, like I did.
