200/300 tdi injector pumps ?
« on: May 18, 2010, 20:33:02 »
Hi
My 200TDI Defender has just spat out it's injector pump :(
After 4 years plus of WVO i am not at all surprised really

Anyway, replacement time...
I understand that the 200 and 300 TDI pumps from Discos and Defenders are basicaly the same but will they all interchange easily?
I have been offered a 300 disc pump and was told it would fit, but the guy I spoke to tonight said there was issues?
please help
thank you

Sorry it's not much help but I've asked the same question, I have a 300tdi Disco and have been offered a 200 pump !
Three respected Land rover mechanics have told me NO they won't interchange.
Two equally respected folks have said YES they will, one has done it, putting a 200 into a 300, but it felt "under powered".Your going 200 - 300 so that may give you more power ?
I guess they will swap but need some kind of tinkering with !
Not being a great DIY mechanic I've decided to wait and fit the right pump...so if you have a 300 pump spare to sell I'm interested ?

back in my 200tdi days i used to run a 300tdi pump and injectors on my comp truck just to get a little bit more smoke....i mean poke out of it  :P
if you fit a 200 pump to a 300 it just needs tweaking abit to get it upto a std 300 setting
if you get the later 300tdi pump with the immobiliser module on the back, all you have to do is smash it off to reveal the normal solenoid underneath and wire it up as normal
