speedo not working

(1/2) > >>

figgy:
i have just change my tyres to235-85 -16 on my 1994 rrc tdi ,at the weekend i changed the  speedo drive on the transfer box  for the blue gear for 235-85- 16 ,since then i can not get a reading  .it has the electric transponder on the transfer box ,is there  any way to check this is working

Bowie:
Take the speedo drive out of the transfer box, and try the cable in the square, my bet is that it is too big...

I swapped the BW transfer box to an LT230 and found exactly this issue, I used the gear from the BW box in the end, which fits fine, and the speedo isn't THAT far out, and I am on 33" tyres.

TBH, going from 205 to 235 tyres makes not a lot of difference to the speedo, maybe 8% under reading...

Range Rover Blues:
It makes 10%, which coincidentally is how inacurate many LR speedos seem to be.

The electronic spped signal also goes to the cruise control, air suspension and engine ECU.

I can agree with that as mine read correct according to tom tom using colway c-trax  ;)

dod51e:
Mine reads 26 when Road Angel and Tomtom say 30 with 255/85/16.  oddometer is out by 14.5% too (at least I have improved my mpg now|)
