90/110 rear axle
« on: April 27, 2010, 18:42:23 »
I take it most 90's have a rover type axle ?
Is it common for 90 owners to swap out their rover drum rear axle for a drum Salisbury type axle off a 110?

My 1988, 90 has a td5 rear axle fitted by a previous owner, I think i'm correct in saying that almost any disc braked axle will fit?

Not sure if 90's ever had Salisbury axles as standard, but like you, I suspect not. Can't really see the point in fitting a drum braked Salisbury instead of a Rover axle except that they seem to be stronger. Hence there use on the 110.

I don't know if they actually are stronger or if it's perception.

The Salisbury is longer though s oyou need a propshaft modification to suite.
