engine numbers

does anyone know where or how i can find out when my engine was first made? i replaced the blown 2 1/4 diesel with another, but i know its an earlier model due to the different ancillaries that were on it when i got it. i just dont know how much earlier.

what's the first 3 numbers, older 3brg normally have a side fill oil pipe, 5brg oil cap is in rocker.
