RAI / Snorkel advice needed on a 300tdi
Landroverstormer:
I'm looking to buy a snorkel for my 300 TDI however I need to find one that fits with a normal Safety Devices external cage. I don't want chrome bling, just something boggo that is easy to fit, works and is good value. Loads of snorkels on Ebay but I need advice as to which will fit with my cage. Any links or eBay item numbers would be appreciated!

Easiest one to make fit with a cage is going to be a southdown snorkel.
Also, they are the best ones that can be made fully airtight because they do away with the joint in the wing.
Dont mess around with other cheap ones that use this joint because if they fail you will have a [!Expletive Deleted!] engine

I'm about to fit a southdown one on mine....... nice and simple..... had one on my disco too..!!!
Landroverstormer:
Looks like you need to drill a whacking great hole in the wing for the Southdown Snorkel? I has hoping to unscrew the wing plate and screw the snorkel on, however perhaps that's being a bit optimistic?

Thats how the safari and mantec ones work, through the wing vent, BUT, you NEVER get a good enough seal on it and it will leak and the resulting engine damage will make you wish you drilled a hole in the wing.
Southdown is the way to go, the hole is neatly covered up too
