I'm thinking about buying one, is there anything I should be wary of or look out for especially on these suckers?

Any idea what the GS entails?

Mud_Medic:
Deep pockets to pay for the petrol!  It currently costs around 40p per mile or £120 to fill.

Cracked cylinder liners are a big problem - look for low water level. Smell the coolant for hydrocarbons (smells of petrol or exhaust)

Don't ask how I know....

Try and find one without a sun roof - they all leak. That is not too bad as the water just runs out the rust holes in the floor.

They all suffer from landrover build quality and tin worm.

Thanks for the info, are they coil sprung or do they have that stupid airbag suspension?

TD5 Les:
if its 7 seats its air sprung

SWEETY:
I've got one & love it :Dmake sure the head gaskets are ok as it's costly to have them done as I found out after the warranty company put it down to wear & tear   :evil:check the condition of the rad & have a close look at the front prop UJ's, not costly to do your self but if sus get them replaced if buying from a garage.
Main probs i've had have been big water leeks from the sunroofs but a good drop of black silicone has solved that  2x head gaskets & front prop UJ's (£45 for 3 UJ's)
If it's a 7 seater your looking at it will have air bags as all 7 seaters do where 5 seaters are coil sprung IIRC
Found mine not to bad on petrol just needed to adjust the way I drive to get better MPG ie now cruise at 55-60MPH & on a nice run get 24mpg :clap:once a week I put it in sport mode & give it some stick to clear the cobwebs out
