help with steering bars

(1/2) > >>

dave1:
my dad got some hd steering bars for his discovery 300 tdi but they are about 6" short  :-. so just a quick question is defender bars smaller if not what could they be for

doda456:
Which bit is too short?   Theyare usually sold as pairs with one that holds the wheels parrelel( track rod), and the other runs from the steering drop arm which is attached to the steering box (drag ling)

stretchy:

i have came across this recently... i think what it is, the drag link has 2 track rod ends on it instead of one track rod end and one end with a duble bend on it thus making the drag link look like a short track rod if you get what i mean.

Devon-Rover:
To elaborate there is two different sets out there. And as they are advertised as either with 3 TRE's (Track Rod Ends) or with 4.
The sets with 4 are for the Disco and RR that have the drop arm that you bolt a TR too. Or else there is the set's with 3 ends that has a swan neck which is used to hold the Steering damper and this has the taper hole in it to accept the ball joint on the end of the drop arm.

I would check that you have the right set. It's a little late for me to pop out and measure my set though.  :(
