Disco 1 200tdi , diff guards ?

I orderd me diff gaurds they arrived yesterday so in work today had five mins spare so placed them Up 2 the diff and they seem about small so just wanna know do I have to bend them open at all or hammer is on ??? Thanks

Combination of both basically!!

One thing I will say, guards like that can fill with mud so you either need to keep them cleaned out or fill the gap between the diff and the guard with silicon!!
