Disco Matt:
My experience of Renault is that they're fine for the first six months.

Try the Laguna TD. Oddly enough the key card never gave any trouble at all, however it had a repetitive "fuel injection fault" that no dealers seemed inclined to sort out and that put the ECU into limp home mode. There was also the case of the new cylinder head at three years old because a glow plug had welded itself to the old one, the failure of the climate control system so you either baked or froze, and the fact that the thing creaked, rattled, and felt on its last legs when a mere four years old with a full service history!

And by the sounds of it that was one of the better ones - the turbo didn't melt and the intercooler didn't blow up like a balloon...

That pretty much what I think too, from new till first MOT they are fine - after that all the plastic literally explodes soon as you look at it.

Yes, but the Sun? I'd have memorised the maps of the line and the emergency hammer instructions before I picked that excuse for a paper up!
