Hi all ive noticed a few days ago a puddle of atf fluid under the disco when i parked it so I checked the transfer box and it took 1.5litres to top it up to the level plug I cant find where its coming from but afetr ive driven it there is a puddle at the front left hand side sort of level with the front wheel and maybe a third of the way over does anyone have anyidea where this can be leeking from as im putting it up for sale once it gets a new mot on tuesday to get a defender but obviously I want to fix this leak first,I know there are leaks on a landrover to keep them lubricated underneath  (thats what I keep telling myself)but this leak is a bit excessive any help and explanation of where it may be coming from  would be greatly appreciated thanks, don

auto or manual

So are you saying it leaks under the axle?

Check the paower steering as that uses ATF.

How much oil have you had to put in since you fist topped it up?

Check the oil coller pipes on the gearbox, they run on the LHS of the engine to the oil cooler, a V8 manual has them too though often the TDi manual doesn't.

B90:
Did you say that kou put ATF in the transfer box?  I am fairly sure that the transfer box should run EP90, but someone with more knowledge than me will be able to confirm this. Or not.

Range Rover Blues:
Good point, IIRC the DII has the LT230, often with the diff lock not connected (though mostly still fitted within the box) and as such it should be EP90 that's in there.

So firstly it won't be the T-Box that has leaked unless either we are wrong or someone else got it wrong in the past, also you will probably need to change it at some point.
