Is it worth breaking a Hilux 1995?

rustyrhinos:
As titled really...I have one of these kicking about and the engine is seized up, the rest of it is very nice though really, a bit of a shame. To me though, its just a another car as I have no emotional attachment to it so to me its not worth swapping an engine in. WIll I get much if I start to break it, or would I be wasting my time and better to sell it as a unit?

Its a 2.4 Jap import in dark red btw

rustyrhinos:
I should have said, It's a Surf

dxmedia:
Worth many times more as parts. A 2.4 surf with a knackered engine is probably worth £200?

You'll get £50 for the turbo on it's own.   If you've the space and time to break it there's good money to be had. Be fair on prices and people will come back for more.

rustyrhinos:
Yeah well if its worth £250 as it stands then deffo worth breaking....its sitting on nearly new branded tyres so they have to be worth something too. Cheers Dx

would it not be worth putting a good engine in then selling it
