D2 auto slow change

All those in the know seem to say that remaping is the way to go rather than chipping. Not sure of any people who do that in S Wales area unfortunately. Was interested in doing that with mine but could never justify the cost (yet) so would be interested in hearing from you if and when you do it to see what you think of the change.

ignorance is bliss and i am very blissful at the mo as i dont know the difference so can you tell me the difference between remapping and chipping

Personally, No I can't but hopefully someone more in the know will be along to explain. I think it has something to do with how the engine management system behaves. They are set up in a generic state so that they work in all countries whether cold and damp like ours or roasting hot in some desert region. The remapping does something to make it work better in our climate. Apparently there is a risk that some chips can overide some settings and damage the ECU but that was all the technicalities I didn't understand.

Remap is were the ecu tune is adjusted to put more fuel in and works with the ecu so if there's a fault it can stop fuel input
a piggy back chip fool the ecu into puttin more fuel into the engine not really safe as if it devolops a fault no matter what the ecu trys it can't reduce fuel input

if you use the power its no worse than befor i tuned it
but ive spent 1400 quid on tuning it alot is how far do you want to go
yours will have the difflock fitted the lever should move left to right for the difflock
and forwards and back for the high low

i very very much doubt your disco has any more than 190 bhp , never mind 220,
Unless you have a dyno chart to prove otherwise
