Jimny lift ?

(1/3) > >>

Gromitt:
Just bought myself a Jimny to get back into the green laning scene again.

I'm planning to put a 3" suspension lift on it (with extended brake lines) and 235/75 R15 Mud Terrains.

Does this sound about right or will I need some wheel spacers aswell to stop any fouling of the body with the tyres ?.

glaggs:
Wheel spacers will probably make things worse as they'll move the tyres close to the plastics. With 235's you might need to do a little trimming to the plastics but should be able to keep it looking fairly standard.

Cheers mate, would I be better with a smaller tyre then ? - any suggestions ?.

glaggs:
The bggest you'll get in without any mods is 205/75r15's, 215/80r15s go in with a 2"lift and minor mods. Any bigger and you need a bodylift/3"suspensionb and some bodywork mods. Also is yours the single cam modle or the later twin cam as the earlier modle struggles to pull larger tyres without a gearbox/transfer box mod.

Gromitt:
S Reg so will be single cam model.

Think I may just go for a 2"lift and 215/80s then.

Cheers.
