the transition to 300

does anyone know at what point in the chassis numbering the first production 300 series discos started and what the production figures( number of cars made) were for each year?

magic is an l reg 200 with a chassis year designation of k which equates to 1993 and i am trying to find out where he fits into the model transition and thus build an impression of what if any historical significance can be attached to him. eg he was the x thousandth car off the line and was in the last hundred? 200 series cars made, that sort of thing.

any usefull help appreciated, cheers.
