NiteMare:
has yours got the glass sediment bowl ...

make sure the gasket seal is in good condition as an airleak here will stop you lifting fuel

Hey Aaron how r u doing? Hopefully getting the pump filled with fuel for the first time is your problem , If you disconnect the fuel line at the carb and suck on the fuel line whilst u prime the pump it 'should' help fill the pump with fuel then can see if works.
Bonus - tasty tasty petrol!

Ah thanks for all this, sounds like its as i thoguth and cheers duncan i think ill try and get a mouthfull of fuel later and yeah i will check the seals and that the bowl s tight as i need to get this sorted.  Hows life tho duncan you been up too much and thank you for all your help everyone i will let you know if this works :)

baron von ledwidge:
Thanks for all the help people, i have taken it all out and i have put it down to a tired pump, i think the valves had stuck open on it, i got it working a bit but just opted for the new pump as there cheap as chips and i figuered it seemed like a waste of effort to have a tired old on one there.  Apparantly i was told the pumps tend to go a bit if they dry out whihc is probably what happened as it worked fine the last time i used it.
