denzil:
Hi Rossco thank you for the details of the ramp ,we have looked at these things before BUT they are not rated at much above 120/140lb and as our 3 year old dogue de bordeaux weighs 67Kg and the puppy weighs 56Kg neither are fully grown at present  I dont want to risk it

Range Rover Red:
How high is the tailgate when opened, in Access mode (lowest driver-selectable setting)?  Penelope settles right down so that the top of the tyre is more or less level with the wheel arch, normal road tyres.  Unfortunately I can't measure her as she is in pieces in the garage at the moment and she's got a flat tyre.  She normally runs about an inch below standard ride height as she is mainly used for towing.

They are seriously big dogs, I wouldn't want to have to lift one of those.  How agile are they - can they jump in and out? although that may not be an option when they get older.  I've got an English Springer who is little enough to lift in and out.

denzil:
Thanks for the replys folks ,I have looked at a couple of Classic Range rovers advertised as in VGC this week, well I would hate to see a rough one!.I have looked at two V8 discos 1s today and I think I will get one of these also got a price for a custom chequer plate ramp. The dogs are quite agile and can probably jump in and out ,BUT as this is my idea (so I can do some lanning as we have a disco)if the dogs got hurt getting in or out I think I would be talklng with a very high pitched voice as my wife and family think the world of these animals.

Regards Denzil

Range Rover Blues:
We measured RRR's car tonight and in access the top of the bumper is 20 inches off the floor, didn't get chance to open the tailgate as it was late already when we got it running.

If you want a tidy, late model RRC you just have to wait, I was looking for a soft dash LSE for a year before I found mine, I'd given up looking by then and bought a TDi so I had to borrow the cash to get it.

People just aren't selling nice ones too often because they aren't fetching much.

denzil:
Thank you  to everyone that took the trouble to reply to my post.I have been looking at a few diso,s, but I have always wanted a
classic Range Rover,I have no idea why? and the disco really does not compare (in my eyes).I am in no hurry I will wait for the right
one to turn up.
