Disco 3.5v8 engine cracked what are my options
stevepage3:
Ok
After the snow has finally gone, I thought I would go out and start my Disco, only to discover that there was no water in the radiator
filled it up and noticed water dripping from the bottom of the engine, I hoped it was going to be something simple like a core plug but
unfortunatley I found a crack in the block about 0.5inch long.
What are my options if I have any !!.
Could this be welded ?
Complete engine transplant and if so does anyone have a 3.5 v8 efi engine lying around looking for a new home.

JIMBOBLY:
where abouts is the crack in the block, you havnt realy got nothing to loose mate, why noy try v-ing the crack out abit, then fill it with chemical metal, its not ideal i know, but its worth a bash, when you do v it out,go right out to the egdes of the crack,to try and stop it going any further
stevepage3:
The crack apears to be in the water jacket just by the side of one of the core plugs.
I have seen a product from Holts wondarweld has anybody used it of know if this might be an option
thanks

You can do a temp botch job but long term i would go for new lump, you could be the other side of the planet and it leaks and be for you know it ,it will be shagged proper!

Don't use woderweld. If you want to bidge it I know a guy who sells quick-fix solutions and he does a twin pack of 2 products that works really well. I've seen it used and you'd think I was pulling your leg if I told you what it will fix.
PM me if you're interested and I'll let you have his mobile no.
