It's on but the Little Guy is too busy playing with everything Santa brought him and I can't hear the telly.  We're recording it though.

The comments about Clarkson's RR caused me to fall about laughing.  RRB, his missus and I have 4 between us and 3 of them are off the road at the moment.

Not in the sand, you sometimes need more power available to you to accelerate if tyhe tyres start to dig.

Another excellent show. Had me grinning and laughing out loud all the way through. Apart from the road of death which seemed the only genuinely scary part of it especially where Jeremy passes on the outside  Shame about the usual staged parts like the <ahem> gorge that they probably could of all easily driven through had they wanted to but it was still a laugh to watch.

Is there some kind of online application form to join the team [-o<

No way were the producers going to let anyone try to drive it down there in 2WD and no clutch. That would have been the end of the Hamster. Hence the staged accident.

I wonder how many times the rangie was fixed but they never showed it! The holes cut in the bonnet would not have kept it cool enough... It was an OK show and the offroading looked fun but Topgear is becoming too staged, too fake, you could almost see the production pushing the Toyota down hill at the end!

can you not download it from iplayer to disk and burn it?  In linux I'm using get_iplayer proggie to grab the standard flash version.
Code: [Select]
get_iplayer --modes flashstd1 --get 605
It's about ~270mb size in fair quality.

or
Code: [Select]
get_iplayer --modes flashvhigh --get 605 for a ~840Mb flash file of pretty good quality.

I was one of the first to post a reply on this thread, then watched the recording back later when my son had gone to bed.  I spent the whole programme wondering just how many support vehicles they had out of camera.  They had no luggage - there was a shot of something yellow in the boot of Clarkson's RR and the other two had nothing with them - I have seen RRB take a boot full of recovery kit just for a day around North Notts.  On one shot where the Hamster was catching the other two up, you could see the support car in the dust cloud behind his 'Donkey'.  Still very entertaining, though - it's amazing just how much hammer those trucks took and still came back for more.
