Defenders with full tilts

<< < (2/3) > >>

topless matt:
Yes, any defender can be turned into a soft top with minimal effort.
The exmoor trim and all wheel trim parts are a bit pricey tho  8-[

redhand:
Biggest problem is that many 90/110 lower tubs don't have the cleats to attach the ropes and most replacement crossmembers don't have the ring hinges for the dropdown tailgates. So not just a case of buying a tilt and throwing ir straight on.

topless matt:
But you can buy the cleats from either of the shops i have mentioned, or any bearmach dealer or even a stealer.
They are not expensive and only take a few mins to rivit onto the body

I didn't say it couldn't be done I jus sid it's not as easy as simply buying the canvas and hoops. fitting tailgate rings requires the use of a welder as well as drilling the tub to take the antiluce pins for the tailgate restraints.

Bob696:
Take a set of hinges and put them on a tailgate (bought one from ebay for 99p). Add padlock and hasp for a quick lock and away you go.

Alternately buy a cheap 2nd hand safari door (£10 from ebay) and cut it away below the window. Edge the sharp top with some u channel to smarten it up.
