Purging Fuel system Disco TD5
JIMBOBLY:
sorry mate,i forgot that bit, i do appologise, lol, when the light starts flashing, the pump should start pumping,it will last about 5 mins, let it run till the light stops flashing, like i said,do it twice mate, just to be safe
Discotel:
Ok mate, gonna let the battery charge for a bit, teh nput the boost pack on aswell just to make sure, I really hope it works, could it be anything else stopping it running...Like I said the diesel was low but I had only done around 10miles with the light on..the pump starting making a loud noise then the car died...I called the AA out and he thought it was the fuel pump, as did I, so I fitted a new one and still wont start...The new pump is making the same noise but for a lot shorter period...I take it this is the air in the system...Correct..?

disco2 td5:
while its charging i thnk if i were you i would some how get a few gallons of diesel i changed my fuel filter and what a night mare it were to blead just as the battery were about to give in it started
JIMBOBLY:
yeah, the pump will make different noises when there is air in the system, when its bleed up,you can hardly hear it,the reason the pump gets loud like that,is because it starts to run dry, like a power steering pump, they get louder when the fluid level is down, simlar kind of thing, and by the way, when youY do the procedure we,ve been talking about, dont turn the engine over whi;le its going through its cycle,as it will cancel it out,and put more air in the system
Discotel:
Hi again, it still wont bloody start, How about I try and take off the fuel lines from the engine and see if there is fuel coming in...Where are they located please....Or shall I just keep doing the procedure you suggested...?.....
