Vigilantes Spike Back
hobbit:
--- Quote from: "karloss" ---
What we need is the ramblers getting all vigilante. Although most of the ones I see are somewhat past the vigilante age!!

:( I hear were your comeing from Hobbit. But ide be the first to addmit that when i was younger between the ages 11 to 15 me and a large group of freinds used to own and ride motorcross bikes down our local Meadows which used to annoy the hell out of local residence, police and local horse riders. But when your that age nothing matters, and going back to vigalanties i remember one time one of my mates nearly had his head chopped off due to someone tieing a thin wire across a path. Now im older and more responsible i can see the error of our ways. But it does not excuse this sort of behaveour in any way shape or form. Nowadays my local Meadows is quite and has been since we all grew up and got jobs etc, etc... but it has took the local council nearly 20 years to sort out this problem with illegal offroaders, and now luckily 4 buissness men have sponsored a group of bikers to run a legal of road course which is still in the area but is quite some distance from local houses to were these kids can now goto and use there bikes etc safely and responsibly. Maybe Nottingham County Council could do the same, that way over time the problem will deminish. :D

I agree with the organised thing, but trying to get our council to do anything is a joke. They leave burnt out cars in the park woods for weeks to months.
Something is needed, its not as if there is not some land where they can use, but they just try to block it off, hard to do if they have two wheels, unfortunately it also hinders my wife who likes to go round the park on her electric runabout, who can't now access the park without going round the long way to the only road entrance, which is annoying as there is one right off the estate where we are

:( Im sorry to hear about your wifes problems with access to the Park. Have you tried writeing to your M.P he or she should be able to do something about it. It sounds like how it used to be around here about 10 years ago, but now thankfully after residence and buisness people got involved lobbying M.Ps etc the area has been transformed to a lovely countryside area. Although from time to time stolen burnt out cars do get left, but are soon removed as the Council has given a contract to a recovery firm whose sole purpose is to go around removeing said vehicles with in 24 hours of been reported. But it has taken years to get to this stage. I do simpathise with your plight and i hope it is sorted for you soon.

it would appear that who ever is placing these spikes has a lack of respect for other users perhaps it would be poetic justice if the perpitrator was to stand on one his/her own spikes
