Help with Overheating problems!

took the stat out today run it a few junctions down the a14 didnt boil stayed way under normal op temp :D :D that was flat to the mat all the way!! going to main dealer 2moro to try genuine stat see if i can get one at 82c as all ive had is 88c stats but all been aftermarket QH jobbies see what they have to say and maybe pry some info out of there fitters never know they might turn round and say try this you plank then it'll be fine  :oops:

You may well just have a duff stat,put it in a pre heated glass add boiling water and watch it open,if it dont you know the answer!

Happy New Year and thank you for everyones advice we really appricate it :P
we tried that mate with our old stat and didnt open till boiling point  :-o
got a nice new genuine one thanks to rockingham landrovers!  :D
we have this new "p" gasket to try and head gaskets etc, cant do no harm, gonna start rebuilding the orginal engine again now  :roll: so fingers crossed  :D
always have a spare! especially as we are selling her to someone close  :D
