As above. Locking diffs are perhaps better value for money than extreme suspension setups, but then in competitions they can put you in a different class as a result.
The Gwyn Lewis kit is very good for the money, I was running that setup for a while, but bigger tyres and range rover wheel arches meant that rationalising the suspension travel was the obvious choice (simply fitted standard front dampers on the rear) and its not very often I miss the travel compared to the advantage of the bigger tyres.
