SNOWING

This country is becoming more pathetic. I have been out on patrol round Hampshire over the last few days, and in all honesty, if people took a bit more time for their journey, used 2nd gear to get themselves out of a mess, and didn't panic, there wouldn't be so much of a problem!

I quite agree although I think some of the blame should lie with the media whipping up a frenzy over it. Obviously a slow news week but getting sick of turning the box on to see headlines like 'Severe snow chaos brings country to gridlock!!!' and being told to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary
I had to go to a xmas dinner some 70miles from home on Friday and was aware that the area it was being held in was getting far more snow than we had been. But I was ashamed when a friend actually rang to see if I was still going as he was staying at home because the woman on the telly told him too  I told him to grow a pair and eventually he came round to the idea. Admittedly when we got there it was under 18" of snow and the road was being cleared by a snow plough infront of me (gutted ) but he still managed it himself in his Vectra and despite snowing heavily all night he got home safely too (although it did take us half an hour to get his doors open and defrost it ).
Obviously if the media is able to reduce the numbers on the roads than this does help ease matters but all they are trying to do is make the first half decent cover of snow we've had seem like a scene from 'the day after tomorrow'

Hardly anything here in Trowbridge worth mentioning - smattering of snow, currently mostly freezing fog at -2degC. This was the view from my tent on weekend:

I trust you cleared all that snow off before driving Rob ;)

We had a light flurry in Birmingham on Sunday but none since then. Must be the only place in the UK with no snow and no clue what all the fuss is about. Snow, snow? what snow?

We're the same, not a jot of snow :'( Been down as low as minus 2 but thats as much as we've had.
All we're hearing on the news is how the county is coming to a standstill!! whereas earlier this year (Feb) when we had loads over here not a jot was heard on the media [-X
