sj wont run

hi my wife a a sj410 for offroading the thing is i cant get it to run properly it has a speed boat petrol tank in it and the standard one removed the petrol return pipe is blocked of ive put new dizzy cap rotor arm plugs and leads on it and new air filter it start straight away and when choke is fully out revs loads screams infact drop the choke off to half way and try to rev then it dyes any advice welcome its doing my head in

Not sure if this is it but there is a pump on the bottom of the carb that adds fuel when you rev it,if used off road the pump arm sticks on the shaft & causes poor runnning when you rev it,its worth a look ,just see if the arm moves up & down easily

hi can i ask why you have blocked the return pipe?

id quess its over fueling now
might be worth unblockin the return into a seperate can and see wot it runs like if it does run

thanks 4xmike will try that at the week end and simon it was already blocked of because it have a speed boat take like a banger tank in it have tryed what you said but still the same

me again !!
I had a 410 that I bought & it was fitted with a boat tank when I got it & it only had a feed to the carb & no return & that alway ran ok,so I dont think its that
