Disco or Range Rover?

(1/3) > >>

siv429:
Hi people my name is Justin,

i live in west sussex and used to own a Land Rover Defender 90 200TDI truck cab. I had to give her up because of my job at the time but now i am in a position to get another off roader!

Basically im looking at either a discovery or a range rover and what i would like to know is which is better in the brown stuff, what engines to avoid/which ones are best etc!

Cheers

J

Same engines(V8-200/300TDI) same g/box(LT77-R380)same axles, same chassis.Slightly different transfer box RR has a viscous coupling(automatic difflock)Disco has a manual selection difflock and different body styles. Both as good as each other and a good driver can make them both do the same.
This applies to a Range Rover Classic and a Discovery One 92-97.
Your choice.
The engine to avoid in my oppinion is the 2.4/2.5VM,unless you like replacing head gaskets.
Others might say different.

Personally, I prefer the Discovery.

To my mind it is roomier, I feel hemmed in by the lower roof of the Rangy (dunno if its real just the way I feel)
