Gearbox problem, need help asap please

Driving around a round about earlier my disco ( mreg 300tdi es) wouldnt go into second gear and hasnt since, so draint gearbox fluid, plug had few metal fragments but nothing major been told thats normal, but oil seemed ok, any suggestions much appreciated thanks :D

Mine has never been keen on 2nd gear when cold (from 30k miles to 120k now). I would agree with eugene in suspecting your synchromesh has gone - try double declutching?

always bad on second, i got an ashcroft recon one and they fixed the design flaw, smooth as silk now

How much that them mate, take it syncro is box out and in half job?
