p38 remote

well ive done it finally found a decent p38 and took the plunge... changed the batts in the remote and synch ocordining to the book but now i can only open the car with it not close and when i try to start it says " engine disabled push remote button" which i do then its starts but next time i turn it off its the same Confused any ideas

did it work properly before you replaced the battery?
how long do you leave it after turning off before restarting could be the immobiliser as mine does it but usually just take the key out and try again
