Identifying RR Diffs

Is there an easy method to identify a range rover diff, i have been given a rolling chassis to strip down and nab bits off by a mate and he wasnt sure weather the diffs were rr or not so i was wandering if anyone could help

Mark the crown wheel and tpinion flange then rotate the pinion. The pinion will rotate about 3 1/2 times for the RR (ratio 3.54:1) or about 4 3/4 for a series (ratio 4.7:1).

Alright m8 hows it going? Sure its not a salisbury diff on the rear? not sure what ratio they run but can tell by casting i think?

salisbury diff casting is longer i believe (might also be bigger diameter) but unless it's been purposely stripped and rebuilt with a new ring and pinion i'm pretty certain you'll only find them in 4.7:1, salisbury axle also has a removable cover plate on the back of the diff housing ...
i don't think they'll fit in an ordinary rover axle
