hi
i seem to have a problem selecting the gears on my series landy, i have changed the master and slave cylinder with no sucess so i assume the problem is with the clutch itself . How difficult is it to fit a new clutch? can anyone help?

stratie:
When you say you have a problem selecting the gear's, is it hard to find the gear's or hard to get it into gear?
The reason i ask is i have been down this road before, thought it was the clutch and turns out i had a knackerd gearbox.

datalas:
replacing the clutch isn't impossible, but it's not for the feint hearted as it involves taking the engine out (or the gearbox but the engine is easier)

I'd post a complete list of "faults" and symptoms so we can suggest some other things before you do it, tis a lot of work to do for nothing :(

lowey:
Check the clutch pedal free play and the master cylinder adjustment before going any further.
Next thing get someone to put foot on clutch pedal while you look at the engine bay clutch flexi hose. If it is perished it will 'BALLOON'.

The above are cost nothing checks to do before you commit to a Horrendous clutch changing process. The above I do before commiting funds to buying parts
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replys to my clutch problem. About a month ago i had no problem selecting the gears but now with engine running i cannot engage any of the gears.
