My understanding of the rules is that the registration plate stays with the chassis, but I think you may encounter a few problems, as according to the dvla you need 8 points and im not conviced you will get 8 points,
Heres a link
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/RegisteringAVehicle/DG_10014199
but take lots of photos and keep a record so if dvla are interested you have some evidence for them

Use the id for chassis you are using, bodies are 99% identical anyway. Why swap bodies, why not just panels???????

Cos they dont fit
'C reg will be exposed hinge, bonnet wings front doors and rear panel where fuel filler are all different.
Also swapping the bodies will include the floor, sills and all the steel bodyshell ;)
