Disco 2 TD5 buying guide?

Hi guys its been a while since i graced this place...sorry  :oops:

Me and swmbo are in the market for a caravan so iam looking for something to tow it with.
Baically i want something reliable enough to do my daily 80 mile slog up the a1 to work and also cope with a bit of laning and then tow a caravan for our hols.

I love the look of the disco 2 especially the td5 engined varient but i have no idea whatsoever about how reliable or not they are and what to look for...can anyone help please?

Like all land rovers they rot. The Disco II has it down to an art. All the usual places, inner wings; chassis supports; crossmembers and don't forget the rear seat belt mounting in the rear wheel.
