What engine hoist to buy
Axetamer:
I'm in the market for an engine hoist, and am looking to pay up to £200 perhaps something like this:

What do you guys use?
Range Rover Blues:
You don't need the long reach one. I had a "normal" Clarke one but it got nicked. Spend your money on a solid one, you don't want it flexing as that gets annoying.

I got a long reach one - it saved taking all the front bumper and rad assembly out of the 90 - also as the engine sits quite far back on 200tdis/TDs/NAs so it helps when putting the lump back in.
Saffy:
I have borrowed a bluepoint (snap-on) crane a few times, good quality piece of kit, if I was to own one that's what I'd be shopping for on the 2nd hand market. Not at full extension and can still leave large winch bumper and winch in place.

V8MoneyPit:
I bought one the Clarke 'standard' reach cranes and it really isn't long enough for the 2.5TD or similar. I fitted the beam upside down and flipped the chain over the end of it just to give a few extra inches of reach.
It was just about OK for the V8 with a winch bumper on, but even then it was right on the limit.
The long reach one would have been so much easier.
