Digressing slightly, there's a new ASDA opened not too far away (well, a replacement bigger store, for the 'shed' that was there before) & it's got 'card-only' pumps.
IE; you insert the card first, not seen those for years, & certainly not around here - should do away with the 'drive-offs'

I don't blame them going that route but with the drive off's so appealing because many of the blood stupid big name garages have a policy of not pressing charges :rolleyes: Esso forecourt in Magor Services ,Wales in summer time could have 3 or 4 drive offs per day, in the 3 years my mrs worked their part time during her student years they only once was followed up and caught one, hardly any went as far as being reported to police.
Thing with these card only forecourt, when I seen one in Bristol there wasn't any staff or anything.... what happens in an emergency like a car fire? Normal garages the staff are trained in such things like turning off the pumps.

Not sure, on occasions, there's a member of staff in a little 'hut' who advises customers on how to use it.
He's (generally a guy) not there on a night, so whether they shut the pumps down overnight? (24hr opening)

I work at British Sugar in Norfolk, near Downham Market, and they've recently completed a multi million pound bio-ethanol plant that produces 100% pure ethanol from sugar beet. That gets blended into all petrol and diesel @ around 5% at the refinaries, to meet government regulations.

I tried that morissons biodiesel in my TD5, it didnt like it at low revs on a cold engine... I wont be using it again.

Wouldnt buy diesel with ethanol in it, it is very VERY bad for diesels and can degrade the seals very quickly and knacker the injectors.
It is only the modern new landrover engines that are not supposed to be run on bio diesel because they have not been round long enough to perform enough testing on them.
