I'm glad someone else brought that one up.
I did actually right a very longwinded and I thought balanced view on this, but then I realised that this is religion and we don't do religion on here
Smego:
This is (moderated) just caus the Muzzers want to hide behind headscarfs why should the Police lower them-selves too??????
...and to allow them to wear uniform in a gay parade when off-duty is alarmly terrible!!
Range Rover Blues:
In my opinion (and that's all it is) if policemen want to support/be recognised as part of the gay community, that's their choice. Not my cup of tea but it's their right to choose, fair enough.
As for forcing a police officer to adopt a tradition that is part of someone else's religion =; are they saying that's more important than the officer's right to follow their own beliefs [-X
My (limited) experience of other faiths leads me to think they would see this as hypocrysy, it won't win any respect if the token gesture comes at the expense of an individuals right to choose.
Lord Shagg-Pyle:
I was always under the impression that my job was to catch the bad guys, get them to court with sufficent evidence to lock the little [!Expletive Deleted!] up, therefore giving the law abiding Public a break from their illegal activities.
Perhaps I've been doing something wrong for most of my career.
Have any of you ever reached a point in your work, where you think "what the hell am I doing this for"?
I am just about to reach that point.
