noisy vibration

Can any one help, I have a classic rangie and she has started making a noise and there is a deffinate vibration at the same time, but it only happens as the power is taken up by the engine or as I release the throttle to slow down.
Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

Sounds like a propshaft, or maybe a diff pinion bearing.

Park it on level ground, get underneath and give the propshafts a good wiggle to check for movement.

Done that though, and changed the front transfer box bearing as a result, but it is still doing it.  diffs seem to be ok, not that I know much about them.  How would I know if it's the diff pinion bearing, same thing with the props?

OK... have you done anything else before I start guessing ?  ;-)

Pinion bearing wear would normally show up by lateral movement in the drive flange.  Check at both ends, also see if the handbrake drum is moving about.

I would say diffs, props or Ujs aswell.  Especailly if its power related.  

Leave the hand brake off, chock the wheels and try and move the props.  Look for play etc.

If nothing, jack up one side completely (becareful!!) and look for excessive play in the diffs or drive train.

My money is on the probs  :D
