hi all just got a rrc all it needs is a battery and a mot and were on the road
 :(contented):
the question is its got a v8 in her at the moment
so do i keep that ir do i change it for a diesel and if so which one :(thinkhard):
any ideas :(biggrin):

You got to leave the V8 in (if its OK)
Convert to gas if consumption is a problem.  I am currently getting the gas equivalent of 28 MPG and have not finished tinkering yet

Definately have to leave the V8 in, i run a classic with gas conv and she is g8, works out cheaper to run than the wifes punto.  wouldn't like to run her every day without the gas though £££££££££.

I have a V8 Range Rover.

I ahve spent £1000 since end of October on fuel.

I would like a LPG too, but cant afford it at the moment

I blew over £100 on fuel this weekend!!

Lpg is the way to go, but like others, moneys tight at the mo :cry:

I aint no expert but this is what I have found out so far.

You can get self fit kits for around £600 - £800 which arnt to difficult to do but I would STRONGLY recomend a professionally fitted kit.  I got mine fitted by an Autogas dealer for £1300.  This is quite expensive but covers all re-tuning and servicing of the system for the life of the vehicle.  (the system needs to be run in as diaphrams soften with use and requires re tuning) approx twice in 5000 miles then should be OK. Also the tank needs to be drained once a year as the wax builds up in it (they put wax in with the gas to aid lubrication of pistons etc.)  Also insurance companys prefer systems with installation certificate.  However some gas kit companys will check and certify self fitted kits (for a fee).

Totally agree but you can water proof a petrol (or gas) but its much more faf.

BUT that V8 sound  :P  :P  :P

i'd have to agree, in the pickup is a v8, but only the 3.5 but its still piles more power right throught the range, and it still needs tuning a bit, oinks a bit but thats only for trials soo consumption isnt really a problem, but cant deny the sound is the best you'll get out of anything!, its on open pipes now with 3 deflectionplates in the very endpipe now to take the crack out a bit.
