So are you saying that you reckon your Terrano can tow more than 4 Ton??????????????????? You are definately misreading that label!! Landrovers and some other LARGE machines can tow 3.5 Ton, NO WAY can a Terrano tow that much.

My Father in laws LWB terrano can tow 2750KG legally, no more!

LR can tow way more than 3.5 tonnes, BUT the law limits any trailer with over-run brakes to 3.5tonnes.  You can have the chassis plate on a LR amended if you provide satisfactory proof that the vehicle has had the braking systeme modified to allow hydraulic coupling to the trailer.  Then it can tow 4 tonnes.

The original RRC handbook stated that "in emergency use" with a maximum road speed of 18MPH you could tow 6 tonnes.

morson4x4:
6 tonne  pretty impressive, i saw in old LRO mag at the back they used a land rover cant remember if it was disco or rrc it was modified to go onto rails an it pulled 6 train coaches full of peeps as a test to show what it can tow

Yoshi:
The launch of the discovery 200tdi iirc was when they towed the train, and it was done with a liveried one at that :D

Disco Matt:
I wouldn't be worried about shuffling wagons about with mine (on paved-in track with a rigid towbar). I would want some means of activating the vacuum/air brakes on the wagons though as while they're not especially difficult to get moving or keep moving they may be very tricky to stop!
