Front Half shaft Removal & Replacement for a 1987 Range Rover V8 Auto. Whats the best method anyone?
TechnoTurkey:
Easy enough to remove, tricky bit can be removing any broken bits if yours have snapped...
Range Rover Blues:
Wheel off
calliper off
hub off
drain swivel of oil
remove stub axle, check that none of the threads strip out of the casting
pull halfshaft/CV etc out
if the halfshafy snapped in the diff you might get the remains out with a big magnet on a stick, like the X-Shaft tool

If you are very lucky, and the splines haven't twisted, try getting someone to lie under the car and rock the propshaft back and forwards, sometimes the shaft will slide out once the pressure is released.
