Keep it up it will be worth it in the end
I'm thinking of painting the chassis on my 90, what paint are you going to use?

Hi, Thinking of using Hammerite. Is there other products out there? If so what are peoples reviews?
Cheers.

Many of the kit car club journals have the same subject crop up, the old hands will tell you that hammerite on chassis chips like hell in short term where as normal oil based black gloss on top of metal primer is a tough protective finish. I favour that opinion too as my kit built car is over 15 years and only in recent times showing sign of paint flaking on the chassis components. I painted a couple of rear mini subframes in old grey gloss overtop of red oxide, it took forever to dry mind you but they lasted many years in my ownership, I hope my mini van is still out there with that same paint.

Cheers for your reply, I think i will be leaving the hammerite alone then. I want to be able to do it and not worry for a few years.
