disco 1 rumble/wobble

<< < (5/5)

mattyme:
it may be an easy fix, but, balance the rear wheels.

if it was the diff, it would be whining and clunking at all speeds.

if it was bearing trouble it would hum at all speeds and increase in volume with more speed.

clunking on gear changes is a worn layshaft from the gearbox to the transfer box.... common problem really.

a wheel that is out of balance by 10 gramms would have the effect or 3 kilograms hitting the road at 60mph, my advice is to balance the wheels...

and its cheap and easy!!!!! worth a try!!

300TDi Disco:
I had a strange wobble coming off mine until i got the wheels balanced and changed the prop uj's (they were seized) it now drive's so smooth. I have got the horrible job of doing the CV's next.

generation-x:
right guys have swapped the wheels still the same have changed the diff oil still the same
as above i think its the prob uj's as ive noticed its worse when you come off the gogo pedal
