A bar fitting to TD5 pre facelift

Any body fitted one of these, I bought one of ebay and I can't work out if its not for this model or there are some parts missing, it fits over the bumperette bits but is probably 1 1/2" away from sitting flat against the bumper, i just wondered if anyone had come accross this when fitting theirs.? ( by the way its the plastic one not tube metal  )
alt has anyone got a pdf of the l/r fitting instructions for their genuine one?

Do you still need the info? I have the same bar, just not fitted yet but ive got the LR instruction/fitting booklet if its any use let me know.
