Range Rover Blues:
IIRC LR advise not to tow any distance with an auto, the transfer box has an oil pump driven by the input.  Given that towing one, pressumably by rope, is not an easy task and that you have to remove the parts anyway I'd suggest dropping the prop and pulling the halfshafts quickly then drive it there in difflock.  Far safer in my opinion rovided it's not icy when you drive it.

be careful towing with a broken dif my friends blew aprt and the only thing that stopped the crown wheel from flying out and into my disco was the diff guard  :shock: scary stuff
