auto 300 tdi disco

is there any chance that you could tow a auto even wiv the diff lock in neutral and the gearbox in neutral.i thinki have blown my rear diff up and got recovered back to my house last nite but i need to get the disco to my mates unit and my dad has just sed you cant tow a auto
any advice would be great thanks

Should be ok with tbox in neutral (between hi and low). Bear in mind any bits floating around in the diff.

you could always tke the props off, one has to come half off any way, I have towed autos before but only for a couple of mile & at very slow speeds ie:- below 20mph

For a "road" car I agree, however, Land Rovers are different. Because the transferbox is between the main gearbox and the axle, the tbox neutral provides a "cut-off", the same as taking a prop off,say, a transit van. Hence no need to take the props of a Landie. Of more concern is the damaged diff, which could lock-up if any broken bits get in the crown wheel and pinion.
