Went to take gearbox out to do clutch when i find top bellhousing nut missing & all others really tight. got all nuts off except one near top, so bloody tight i split 1 socket & 2nd socket rounded nut off, can not get to it with impact screwdriver, or nut spliter or to grind or cut off. apart from taking engine & gearbox out in one lump iam am out of all ideas!!

any suggestion gratefully received!!!!!

Try using hexagon sockets(6 sided)

as suggested use a good quality 6 sided socket or a flank drive socket may shift it

as previously said try a 6 sided socket if you can get a impact socket eaven better

It also might be worth sticking a couple of nuts back on each side of the bad one to release some of the tension on it..
