too much water pressure 300 tdi

mine has just done the " oo the heater is cold and wont get hot............"

the gaskget was gone between 2-3 cylinders  :'( :'( :'(

wel i did buy a new head gasket today 1.5mm 3 holes thats wot i got onthere now so this one better last longer than 3 months so looks llike i have another busy saturday then fed up of every weekend under the bonnet of this bloody thing thanks for all your post will let you no on saturday wot it was

Whilst I tend to agree with the head gasket diagnosis of others there is another possibility - a blocked radiator - either internally blocked or the exterior full of mud/leaves.

I recently had an overheating problem with the V8 that gave similar symptoms to those you describe and a replacement rad cured it :-)

I'd get it sniff tested before lifting the head.

Range Rover Blues:
A classic head gasket failure would cause the water to "spit" out in lumps whilst the engine idled.
